Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya completes 100 days

Gowtham Menons Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya,with Silambarasan aka Simbu and Trisha in the lead roles,completed 100 days of successful run recently. The film,which saw Gautham Menon teaming up with A.R. Rahman for the first time and which has also turned out to be a musical hit,is a love story told with a difference.
Though Simbu had celebrated the 100 days with friends,an official celebration is yet to happen. Its learnt that there will soon be a big celebration in Chennai. The makers,had made the occasion memorable by coming out with a very exquisite newspaper ad,which had the caption 8211; 100 successful days of Jessie,Karthik and an unforgettable romance.

Karunas in yet another Sreenivasan movie remake
Karunas is all set to play the lead in yet another Sreenivasan movie remake. The actor,who is one of the most popular comedians in Tamil,had earlier played the lead in Dindigul Sarathy,which was the Tamil remake of the Malayalam film Vadakkunokkiyanthram,which was Sreenivasans debut directorial venture.
This time Karunas is going to do the key role in the remake of Aanavaal Mothiram, and had Sreenivasan playing the lead which was directed by G.S. Vijayan. Suresh Gopi,too,played a supporting role in the film,which was a hit.

Thamassu cleared with an A certificate
Thamassu,which has been the subject of discussion for a while,finally gets through the censors with an A certificate,of course with some cuts. The film,starring Shivarajakumar in the lead role,is an action flick and has Padmapriya playing the heroine. Directed by debutant Agni Sridhar,it is produced by M.S. Ravindra under the banner of Megha Movies.
The film had faced objection from the censor board as the members feared that some scenes and remarks about Hindu-Muslim relationships could lead to communal tensions. The makers,however,had a firm stand and maintained that there is nothing in the film that could cause communal issues. Anyway,after being submitted to the revising committee and after much deliberations,the film has been cleared with an A certificate and some cuts. Thamassu is now ready for release.

Hansika to reprise Madhuri Dixits role
Hansika is playing Madhuri Dixits role in Mappillai, the remake of the Hindi super hit film Jamai Raja. The film also features Manisha Koirala who is playing Hansikas mother. Says an excited Hansika,It truly has been an experience which I am going to cherish for the rest of my life. Sharing the screen space with Manisha Koirala has truly been amazing. She is so calm and composed and she makes acting look so easy. When asked about her playing the role of Madhuri Dixit,she says I am very excited to be a part of this film,and it is indeed an honour to play the role which was played by Madhuri. She is someone I have always looked up to and she is easily the most talented and beautiful actress in our industry.
