Over two months after Tech Mahindra,Satyams new owner, failed to reach an out-of-court settlement with UK-based Upaid Systems which had sued Satyam in the US fresh legal troubles seem to be brewing for the beleaguered IT firm. The Delhi High Court on Friday dismissed Satyams objections against Upaids plea to appoint an officer for collecting oral and documentary evidence from Nasscom so as to take them to court in Texas, where the suit for fraud and forgery against Satyam is pending. Upaid alleged that Satyam provided forged documents in patents filings. While it sought 1 billion in damages,Tech Mahindra had offered about 10 million for an out-of-court settlement, declining which Upaid decided to go ahead with legal proceedings.
