UP trader to give Rs 5 lakh for info on his parents

A businessman in Muzaffar Nagar,Uttar Pradesh, has announced a reward of Rs 5 lakh for information about his parents

A businessman in Muzaffar Nagar,Uttar Pradesh, has announced a reward of Rs 5 lakh for information about his parents, who went missing in Kedarnath after the floods.

Sanjay Goyal has put up posters at several places in Uttarakhand, announcing the reward, and in advertisements in the local media.

His parents Nand Kishore Goyal,65,and Vijay Laxmi,58,had gone to the Kedarnath temple along with eight neighbours and friends, including former BJP MLA Ashok Kansal. They were on their way back from the shrine when the floods came.

All returned home on June 21,except the Goyals .

Sanjay,42,who runs a grain shop, said he was also trying to find the four persons who were carrying his mother in a palanquin.

My father was walking behind the palanquin carrying my mother. The others separated with my parents soon after the flood. We believe the carriers of palanquin must have taken them to some safe location before the flood came. When the palanquin was hired they issued a receipt and those who returned provided it to us, Sanjay said. It has the name and address of a person. We are trying to reach him.

Sanjays brother Sandeep Goyal and some relatives had gone to Uttarakhand to locate his parents and the palanquin carriers but in vain.
