UP advocates to boycott work

Angry over the failure of the police to arrest those involved in the murder of a lawyer,advocates have decided to boycott work on Monday.

The president of UP Bar Council,Arun Kumar,conveyed the decision to me, said Satendra Singh Raghav,District Bar Association president.

On August 2,a local court advocate,Iftikhar,was gunned down at Upper Kot by unknown assailants while he was returning home from work. The police suspect that City Board member Rizwan alias Gotar,his six brothers and two associates were involved.

According to SSP Nilesh Kumar,there are 29 cases registered against Rizwan in Kotwali City,including six cases of murder.
