Following Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjees recent ultimatum regarding a three-year moratorium on West Bengals debt burden,Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee assured party MPs that he would take up the matter Prime Minister Manmohan Singh soon.
A group of 18 TMC MPs met Mukherjee on Thursday. The finance minister has assured us that after discussing with the PM,he would get back to us with a positive,constructive feedback, said MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay. The MPs will also meet the PM on Friday.
Bribe offer: NIA to file reply tomorrow
The National Investigation Agency NIA will file a reply on April 28 in an Ajmer court on allegations levelled by two accused in the 2007 Ajmer dargah blast case that they were offered Rs 1 crore each by agency officials and asked to name three senior RSS functionaries in the murder of RSS activist Sunil Joshi.
