After questioning for several hours,the Jamp;K Police on Friday released a shopkeeper who was detained in connection with the Delhi High Court blast. Farooq Ahmad of Qamerwari was detained soon after his arrival at the Srinagar airport from Delhi Thursday afternoon. However,after questioning for several hours by different agencies he was released.

Officials said Ahmad was detained as he had visited the Delhi High Court on the day the blast took place there. Sources said that Ahmad told investigators that he was in the court in connection with a criminal case. His brother Ajaz was also questioned in connection with a phone conversation they had on Wednesday. The conversation,sources said,had been intercepted by the agencies probing the blast. After checking his antecedents and other details,Ahmad was released on Friday.
