The race for Jamia V-C

The HRD Ministry is soon likely to declare the name of the next Vice-Chancellor of Jamia Milia Islamia University. While current incumbent Prof Mushirul Hassan is still a contender for the job,it is learnt that he may not get a second term. His decision to call for legal aid for the accused in the Batla House encounter is being seen as something that may work against him. The frontrunner for the top job at Jamia is reported to be Bihar Home Secretary Afzal Amanullah.
