If the police seek further custody of actor Shiney Ahuja,when they produce him in the Andheri Magistrate8217;s Court again on Thursday,which seems quite likely,they will be banking mainly on the report of the medical test conducted on the domestic help.

The reports confirm that the 18-year-old was sexually assaulted. The cops are still waiting for the report on the medical test on Ahuja and the results of the analysis of samples sent to Kalina.

DCP Niket Kaushik Zone 9 said,The medical report of the victim supports her FIR. On June 18,when he is again produced in court,the report may help us in seeking his further custody.

Asked why further custody would be needed when the samples had been gathered and the statement of the victim taken,Kaushik said,In such cases,a detailed interrogation is needed to corroborate facts,like the time of the incident,the duration and such other things which usually come up during trial.

On whether they would seek further police custody of Ahuja,Kaushik said,Inquiries are on. By June 18,if we feel the need,we shall seek it.

Ahujas medical report could be in by tomorrow. The results of the analysis of the other items taken from his residence and sent to the FSL Lab in Kalina may take a few more days, said Kaushik.

Investigators have collected a bed-sheet and some clothes from Ahujas house for analysis at the Kalina Forensic Laboratory.

The police were also in the process of taking the statements of some people,including those employed in the household of Ahuja in suburban Oshiwara. Ahuja was arrested on Monday morning after the maid alleged that he had raped her on Sunday afternoon,when they were alone in the house. Ahujas wife was away at the time. The FIR filed by the maid also alleges that he had molested her on Saturday when she was on the terrace checking the water tank. Ahuja has been charged with rape,criminal intimidation and wrongful confinement.

Police remand of Ahuja ends on Thursday.
