Tata Chemicals reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 605.90 crore for the year ended March 31,2010.
The company had a consolidated net profit of Rs 648 crore in the previous fiscal,Tata Chemicals said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
8220;The figures of the corresponding period in previous year are not comparable on account of Rallis India Ltd becoming a subsidiary of the company and the actuarial gains and losses on the funds for employee benefits pension plans of the overseas subsidiaries for the period from April 1,2009,8221; the filing added.
Total income stood at Rs 9,712.6 crore for 2009-10,while it had a total income of Rs 12,832.6 crore in the previous fiscal.
In a separate filing to BSE,the company informed that it will issue 1.15 crore shares to the promoter of the company,Tata Sons Ltd,on a preferential basis.
At the current market price price of Rs 300.30,the company would raise Rs 345.34 crore by issuing 1.15 crore shares.
On the standalone basis,the company posted a net profit of Rs 434.7 crore,however it had a net profit of Rs 552 crore in the same period last year.
Shares of Tata Chemicals were trading at Rs 300.30 on BSE,down 5.43 per cent from previous close.
