Flight operations of the Jet Airways on Saturday returned to normal as about 400 contractual labourers withdrew their strike demanding pay hike following an assurance that the matter would be taken up with the airline management.
Airline sources said the labourers who went on an indefinite strike from 12 noon demanding pay hike, called off the stir at 3 pm.
Secretary of the contractual labour union Sanjay Gupta said they were withdrawing the strike as their contractor Shyamal Poddar had assured that he would take up the matter with the Jet Airways management for a settlement.
The labourers have demanded increased wages as per the union labour department circular issued in May,2009,but Poddar had earlier said he could not enhance the wages as the Jet authorities did not provide him money to that end.
