Strike at M038;M8217;s Nashik plant called off

The fortnight-long strike at Mamp;M was called off tonight following an amicable settlement.

The fortnight-long strike at Mahindra and Mahindra8217;s plant at Satpur was called off tonight following an amicable settlement reached between the management and internal unions,company sources said.

The 8216;tool down8217; strike has been called off and workers will be joining their duties from tonight,the sources said in Nashik.

Details of the agreement reached between the unions and the company were not known.

The workers went on strike on May 5 to protest the suspension of union leader Madhavrao Dhatrak on disciplinary grounds.

The stir hampered production work in the plant causing losses to the tune of crores to the auto major,the sources said.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Chhagan Bhujbal had spoken to union leaders and company management in an effort to end the agitation.
