Lord Ganesh happens to be the favourite deity of most B-town celebrities. Stars from different castes and religions welcome the Lord home,year after year and celebrate the festival with great fervour. The Kapoor family have always worshipped Lord Ganesh.

This year,Rishi Kapoor,who is keeping the idol at his Bandra residence for five days,has invited everyone in B-town to pay a visit to the deity. Ranbir,who was shooting in Prague for the last 50 days,could not be around when his father brought the idol but he flew back home so that he could be with his family during the visarjan immersion ceremony.

Known for his secular beliefs,Salman Khan had a double celebration this year as Eid and Ganesh Chaturthi fell on the same day. The actor celebrated the festival with family and close friends at his Bandra residence. Shilpa Shetty,who earlier often went pandal-hopping,decided to get Lord Ganesh home this year. Rather than a large idol,she opted for a small one on a golden throne and personally supervised all the arrangements.

In keeping with tradition,Nana Patekar,who is a staunch devotee of Ganpati Bappa,brought an idol of his favourite god home.

Akshay Kumar surprised everyone by getting a Ganesh idol home for the very first time,since he has always been known as a staunch follower of Santoshi Maahe prefers to be known as mata ka bhakt.The actor said that he has been wanting to get an idol home for a long time and was glad his dream has finally been realised.

Govinda,Shreyas Talpade,Jeetendra and Bappi Lahiri were the other B-town celebrities who welcomed Lord Ganesh at their home this year.
