The CRPF has come under sharp criticism for opening fire on protesters in the past four days which has sparked massive unrest across the Valley. The recent spate of killing began last Friday when two civilians Shakeel Ahmad Gania,24,and Firdous Ahmad Khan,21,were killed near Chanakan Sopore when CRPF opened fire on a protest march. The protesters were demanding the bodies of two militants who were killed earlier in the day in Krankshiwan for burial. Since then two more civilians were killed in CRPF action in Sopore.
