Singham is set in Shivgad,a small village on the border of Maharashtra and Goa,and revolves around an honest inspector,Bajirao Singham,Ajay Devgn. Singham is convinced that if he follows the rule book he wont be able to eradicate crime. So,he decides to take the law in his own hands.

Singham crosses swords with a powerful criminal- turned-politician,Jaykant Shikre Prakash Raj who leaves no stone unturned to make Singhams life hell. But with the help of Kavya Kajal Aggarwal,who reforms him,Singham manages to get rid of Shirke without going against the rule book.

Tamil film by the same name. From the original cast only Prakash Raj has reprised his role as the villain

Apart from Singhams title track that has been picturised like the song Udd udd dabangg,the movie also has other similarities with Dabangg. In both the movies,the heroes play cops who are reformed by the heroines and battle the local corrupt politicians.
