The Shiv Sena declared 126 candidates in its first list for the Assembly polls,on Monday,renominating 38 sitting legislators and giving tickets to five BMC corporators. Sixty new faces including Omraje Nimbalkar,the son of slain Congress leader Pavanraje Nimbalkar,who has been nominated from Osmanabad,also found their way into the list.

The Sena is attempting to cash in on the anti-NCP sentiment in Osmanabad,where local NCP MP Padmsinh Patil,currently in CBI custody,has been accused of masterminding his cousin Pavanrajes murder. Kalpana Adhalrao Patil,wife of Shirur MP Shivajirao Adhalrao Patil has been nominated from Ambegaon while former Thane mayor Rajan Vichare has been nominated from Thane. Sitting MLAs Dattaji Nalawade Worli and Anusuya Khedkar Nanded have been dropped,while some sitting MLA Ravi Gaikwad Umarga has not been nominated since his constituency falls in the reserved category after delimitation.

Vaibhav Naik,Sindhudurg district unit chief and Kankavali corporator will contest from Kudal,the constituency of the Senas bete noire Narayan Rane,while former Shiv Sena MP from Amravati,Anant Gudhe will contest from Achalpur. Abhijit,the son of incumbent Amravati MP Anandrao Adsul,will be the candidate from Daryapur.

Bhimrao Kshirsagar will be the candidate from Bhokar,where Chief Minister Ashok Chavan is also likely to contest from. BMC standing committee chairman Ravindra Waikar has been nominated from Jogeshwari East,along with fellow corporators Ramesh Latke Andheri East,Ashish Chemburkar Worli,Yashwant Jadhav Byculla and Prakash Bala Sawant from Bandra East.

Sitting MLAs including Leader of Opposition Ramdas Kadam Guhagar,Subhash Desai Goregaon,Dagdu Sakpal Sewri,Tukaram Surve Srivardhan,Suryakant Dalvi Dapoli,Sharad Dhamale Bhor,Sureshdada Jain Jalgaon City and Suryakant Dalvi Sawantwadi have been re-nominated.

Former MLA and Sena secretary Vinayak Raut Vile Parle,former Dharavi MLA Baburao Mane Phaltan in Satara,Chandradeep Narke Karveer,former Jintur MLA Haribhau Lahane,former co- operatives minister Jayprakash Mundada Basmath in Parbhani and Manohar Dhonde Loha of the Shiva Sangathan,an organisation of the Lingayat community,also find mention in the list.

The new faces include former Opera House MLA Chandrakant Padwals son Anil from Mumbadevi,Ashok Nar Magathane,former corporator Tukaram Kate Anushakti Nagar,Mangesh Kudalkar Kurla,Bharat Gogawale Mahad,Sada Chavan Chiplun,Rajan Salvi Rajapur,Solapur district Sena chief Purushotam Barde from Solapur city central.
