Mahie Gill films herself during the shooting of Ram Gopal Varmas Not A Love Story.
Actors are used to facing the camera but not using them. However, that is exactly what actress Mahie Gill did during the shooting of Ram Gopal Varmas Not A Love Story. Ramu sir was shooting with a Canon 5D camera which is a hand-held camera and is used in natural light. There is no need to set up lights,so even an amateur like me can use that camera. Hence for one of the shots,I held the camera and took some shots of myself, says an excited Mahie who is playing the lead in the film that is based on the Maria Susairaj case.
Mahie will be sporting two looks in the film one with long locks and the other with short hair. I shall be sporting long tresses in the beginning of the film when my character,Anusha Chawla, arrives in Mumbai from Chandigarh, she says adding that other details about her mannerisms, look and clothes were worked out by Ramu who did an extensive research about Maria by talking to her friends.
Off screen,Mahie, who came to Mumbai at the time of the murder, recalls how she had trouble getting accommodation as no one was willing to rent out their houses to a single woman. Thats one reason why I could never forget Maria, she says.
The rest of the cast comprises Ajay Gehi, who plays Neeraj, and Deepak Dobriyal as Emile. Not A Love Story is scheduled to release later this year.
