SC declines VS plea on Pillai release

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Tuesday declined to entertain former Kerala CM V S Achuthanandans plea against release of former minister R Balakrishnan Pillai before the expiry of his one-year jail term awarded by the SC in a corruption case. We have passed the judgment. Is it our duty to implement it?, the bench asked,advising Achuthanandan to approach the Kerala High Court.

VS sons registration for PhD cancelled

Thiruvananthapuram: The PhD registration of V S Achuthanandans son,A V Arun Kumar,was cancelled by the Kerala University syndicate on Tuesday,as he allegedly did not have the required qualification. As per the rules,a person should have seven years teaching experience for getting registration for PhD studies without passing an entrance test.
