The Congress Tuesday alleged that its state unit vice-president Manak Agrawal was attacked when he,along with 50 activists, tried to take stock of illegal sand mining in Nasrullaganj,a part of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhans Assembly constituency.
Leader of opposition Ajay Singh alleged that illegal mining was rampant in the area and that sand was being ferried by trucks with the collusion of the local administration. He claimed that trucks with the symbol of the BJP were engaged in mining when Agrawal reached the spot.
Singh demanded police action against Agrawals attackers. He accused Shiva Corporation, the company engaged in mining,of having close ties with Chouhan.
