RS suspends 2 TDP members

The two MPs were also suspended on Monday for disrupting the House.

Deputy chairman of the Rajya Sabha P J Kurien on Tuesday suspended two TDP members from Andhra Pradesh for the second day for disrupting the House over the Telangana statehood issue. After several warnings,Kurien suspended C M Ramesh and Y R Chowdhary for the day. The two MPs were also suspended on Monday for disrupting the House.

The action came after Ramesh and Chowdhary stood in the well holding placards as part of their continuous protests since the Monsoon Session began on August 5. Kurien asked the members to withdraw, saying,“I will be forced again to take action against you…. If you do not go back,I will invoke Rule 255.” After his repeated appeals went in vain,Kurien suspended the two members.
