The Mayawati government is likely to bring a resolution favouring creation of separate states of Bundelkhand

The Mayawati government is likely to bring a resolution favouring creation of separate states of Bundelkhand,Paschimanchal and Poorvanchal from Uttar Pradesh in the winter session of the legislature,beginning November 21.

Another resolution,asking the Centre to take steps to introduce reservation for Muslims,may also be tabled.

The state cabinet,which met on Thursday,took the decision to convene the winter session of both Houses from November 21. Since the term of the current Assembly ends on May 20 and elections are likely early next year,the legislature may pass a vote on account for a few months of the next financial year.
