At the condolence meeting for SP ideologue Janeshwar Mishra on Thursday, the Samajwadi Party and Left parties sounded a conciliatory note after their differences over the Indo-US nuclear deal in 2008 when the former broke ranks to bail out the UPA government.

“We are generally united on many issues, though we have often crossed swords on some. But difference of opinion happens everywhere. We can keep the contentious issues separate to take Janeshwarji’s legacy forward,” SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav said in the presence of CPM leader Sitaram Yechury.

The CPM leader also echoed similar sentiments saying,“We always urged him (Mishra) to bring together socialists and Communists of all parties to combat the prevailing adverse conditions affecting the common man. I think to bridge the gap between shining India and suffering India, there is a need to abide by Janeshwarji’s socialist views and we should all unitedly move ahead to address these problems.”

JD(U) chief Sharad Yadav,Congress leader Santosh Bagrodia,RSP leader Abani Roy and BJP Rajya Sabha member Prabhat Jha were also present along with Mulayam’s son Akhilesh

Yadav and brother Ram Gopal Yadav.
