Raj,Uddhav get behind mill workers,separately

Uddhav has warned of a bandh if the state doesn't take a decision on workers demands by Aug 1.

The warring Thackeray cousins,Raj and Uddhav,Thursday made common cause with Mumbais former mill workers demanding homes in the city and joined their rallies,but separately,disappointing some of their supporters who had hoped that this would be the beginning of a rapprochement.

Thousands of former mill workers marched to press the government to take a decision to provide homes to those among them who lost jobs as the mills began shutting down in early 1980s.

Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray addressing a rally,warned of a bandh if the state did not take a decision on the workers demands by August 1.

MNS chief Raj Thackeray walked with the workers till CST station and returned,avoiding his cousin on the stage. I will not make a speech,this march is for the rights of Marathi people. I do not want to politicise the event, he Raj.
