Senior Congress leader and External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Thursday once again hinted at the possibility of a post-poll tie-up with the Left. He added that it would be sensible for the Left to think on this after the results are out.
Addressing a press conference in Jangipur,he said: On May 16,the numbers will be known. It is sensible for the Left to sit and talk. Numbers are important.
Mukherjee added: In a parliamentary democracy, the one who gets 51 out of 100 is the victor, and the one who gets 49 is the loser. In a parliamentary democracy,49 is equal to zero. When asked about the chances of Bihar Chief Minister and JDU leader Nitish Kumar joining a Congress-led government ,he replied: It is for him to decide.
Meanwhile,Mukherjee has demanded a repoll in two booths of his constituency, alleging that Congress poll agents werent allowed to work there.
