Para teachers back at work after 2 months

With the current monthly salaries being Rs 5,000-6,000,the minister said a hike to Rs 10,000 will be requested.

A tough stand by the Jharkhand High Court and an open threat to terminate their services by state Human Resources Development Minister Baidyanath Ram has forced the 75,000-odd striking para teachers contractual teachers to return to their classes on Thursday.

Except for the cabinet decision to hike their honorarium by Rs 700 a month,nothing substantial in favour of the para teachers has been taken since August 27 when the strike began.

With the current monthly salaries being Rs 5,000-6,000,the minister said a hike to Rs 10,000 will be requested.
