Pakru plays lead again

Pakru,whose real name is Ajayakumar,now plays the lead in Swantham Bharya Zindabad,which will be directed by Biju Vattappara.

Pakru,whose real name is Ajayakumar,is a popular name in mainstream Malayalam cinema. The dwarfish actor,who made his beginnings under the name UndaPakru,is now known as Guinness Pakru.

Pakru,who has done supporting roles,mainly comedies,in many films,had played a key role in My Big Father,directed by Mahesh Sreenivasan. In the film,he had played father to Jayaram and had appealed a lot to the family audience too.

He now plays the lead in Swantham Bharya Zindabad,which will be directed by Biju Vattappara. He plays the role of Vettoor Sivankutty,a staunch communist who gets married to a beautiful girl. Sivankuttys wife,however,doesnt care for his political ideologies and is instead a die-hard fan of superstar Susheel Kumar,played by Mukesh. Things take a twist with Susheel Kumar landing up in the village for a shoot.

The film has Sruthilakshmi playing Pakrus heroine. Others in the cast are Suraaj Venjaramoodu,Salim Kumar and Harisri Ashokan.

Actor Jagadeeshs new avatar

Jagadeesh is not just a popular actor; he is a multifaceted personality too. This one-time college lecturer,who has been a successful comedian in Malayalam cinema for many years,is a scenarist too and is all set to turn director in the near future. Jagadeesh is also popular on the small screen,having made his presence felt as an anchor and a judge on television reality shows. But Jagadeesh will now be seen in a totally new avatar as the anchor for Nammal Thammil,one of the most popular and the longest-running talk shows in Malayalam.

Nammal Thammil would no doubt pose a challenge to Jagadeesh as the show has become popular due to its anchor Sreekantan Nairs unique style of presentation. It has often been been imitated by mimicry artistes too. Nair,who had successfully hosted 757 episodes of the show on Asianet,has resigned from the channel,where he had been also serving as the Vice-President. He would no longer be presenting the show. Channel sources and Jagadeesh himself have stated that there would be no attempt at imitating Sreekantan Nair and that the actor would be doing the show in his own inimitable style.
