Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh on Thursday expressed his disapproval at party general secretary Amar Singh announcing his resignation in the media, and said he should have placed his grievances before the party.
I know that there are some differences between the two general secretaries,Amar Singh and Ram Gopal Yadav, but Amar Singh should have chosen the party forum for redressal of his grievances instead of announcing his resignation to media, said the SP chief. The resignation letter of Amar Singh shows that he is pained over some issue,I am pained over Amar Singhs resignation, he said. Nevertheless, the former chief minister said the matter would be resolved in a meeting of the party leaders very soon.
He said that Amar Singhs announcement, made from Dubai, suggested a conspiracy of our enemies to demoralise the rank and file on the eve of elections. He also said that Amar Singh had taken the matter to the point of no return.
Dismissing Amar Singhs comments on the family control on the Samajwadi Party as bogus,Mohan Singh said this matter was as old as the party, and Amar Singh had flourished in the party under the same family, but he never objected in the past. It was Amar Singh who, without consulting the party leaders, had announced the elevation of Akhilesh Yadav as the state president of the SP. It was Amar Singh who had proposed the name of Dimple and prevailed on the parliamentary board to field her from Ferozabad and today he is sermonising on family rule in the party, said Mohan Singh.
The SP leader alleged that Amar Singh had been preparing the ground since the Lok Sabha elections in May and was waiting for an opportunity to strike. Amar Singh has high stakes in the corporate world,he remained in the party as long as he could serve the interests of his friends in the business world and now he is in search of greener pastures, said Mohan Singh.
