More than four months after Chicken Rabi,a dreaded criminal,was shot dead in a house in Ganjam district of Orissa,the police on Thursday nabbed main conspirator and Congress MLA Ramesh Jena.

Jena,who was elected as an MLA from Sanakhemundi area of Ganjam last year,had turned fugitive after two persons involved in the murder of the gangster told the police that the conspiracy was hatched by the Congress legislator. Jena was arrested from Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh,police said.

Rabi Behera alias Chicken Rabi was shot dead in the house of one of his past acquaintances,Susant Bisoi,in Lanjipalli area of Berhampur town on January 1 this year. So far,11 persons have been arrested in connection with the murder. The arrested persons include the MLAs driver,who had allegedly helped in the escape of persons behind the murder. Police alleged four people were hired to kill Rabi.

During interrogation,two of the four killers alleged that they were helped by the Congress MLA in the execution of the murder and their escape after it.
