One more ship sent to Libya

The government is pressing into service an additional ship that will reach Misurata in Libya from Malta.

The government is pressing into service an additional ship that will reach Misurata in Libya from Malta by Friday noon. It is expected to return to Malta on Saturday morning.

Kingfisher and Jet Airways aircrafts will then fly out the Indian nationals from Valetta.

The Scotia Prince,a chartered ship,reached Alexandria on Wednesday evening with 1,188 passengers. MV Scotia Prince is scheduled to return to Benghazi in Libya on March 5 to bring back the next batch of passengers to Alexandria.

Besides the sea route,air connectivity is also being strengthened. Over a thousand Indian nationals are being flown out out of Libya daily. Another Boeing 747 will be pressed into service on Friday.
