Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) has recorded the highest ever profit of Rs 235.65 crore with a sales turnover of Rs 8,853 crore during the financial year 2008-09.
The sales turnover marked an increase of 1.02 per cent as compared to Rs 8,764 crore during the previous year,a release issued by NRL said here on Saturday.
The refinery paid a total dividend of Rs 110.34 crore to its shareholders with the Assam government receiving Rs 13.63 crore as dividend for its equity of of 12.35 per cent in NRL and also received Rs 298.60 crore as taxes and duties from the refinery during the year 2008-09.
The refinery processed 2.25 million tonnes of crude oil,maximising production of distillates like petrol,diesel,and kersosene and achieving a distillate yield of 84.72 per cent which is the highest in the Indian oil industry,the release added.
