No tie-up with Sena or BJP: Raj

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray Saturday ruled out an alliance with Shiv Sena-BJP-RPI for the 2014 Assembly elections.

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray Saturday ruled out an alliance with Shiv Sena-BJP-RPI for the 2014 Assembly elections.

There is no question of joining any grand alliance. The MNS will contest and capture power on its own, he said at a function to mark the seventh foundation day of MNS in Mumbai.

He ridiculed Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray, who had offered an alliance for state elections, and urged him to introspect. Someone offered his hand for a clap, but I raised my hand to do a tata, he said.

Raj said MNS had the potential to take on political rivals in the state on its own.

No Sena leader reacted to Rajs refusal and the BJP,too, did not make any official comment. A senior BJP leader, however, said it was too early to rule out an alliance.
