No proof against Pinarayi,says CBI

In its further probe report into the SNC Lavalin case,the CBI told the special court here on Monday that it could not find any evidence for financial transactions involving the seventh accused,Pinarayi Vijayan,a member of the CPM politburo,and the middlemen in the deal.

T P Nandakumar,the petitioner,had alleged that Vijayan,who,as the power minister had inked the deal with Lavalin for renovation of three power projects in 1997, had taken money from middlemen. The court then allowed a further probe.
