Naveen questions packages for Bihar,Bengal,UP

Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has questioned the financial packages announced for Samajwadi Party,JDU and Trinamool Congress-led state governments

Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has questioned the financial packages announced for Samajwadi Party,JDU and Trinamool Congress-led state governments alleging that UPA Presidential candidate Pranab Mukherjee misused his position as the finance minister.

Pranab Mukherjee as the finance minister had doled out money amounting to lakhs of crores to Bihar,West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh, Naveen said on Sunday night.

Last week,Bihar CM Nitish Kumar had got a special package of Rs 20,000 crore during the 12th five year plan from the Planning Commission. UP CM Akhilesh Yadav has said that his government is expecting a Rs 90,000 crore package. Naveen is particularly miffed with the Centres persistent refusal to grant special category status to Orissa. Besides,he is upset over the Union Mines Ministry refusing to impose Mineral Resources Rent Tax on iron ore to be charged at 50 per cent of the surplus rent from the iron ore mining companies.

Could it be that this money is going because he wanted parties like SP of Mulayam Singh,Nitish Kumars JDU and Trinamool Congress of Mamata Banerjee to support his candidature8230;why so much money being given by the Central government when the Rastrapati elections are going on, he asked.

Meanwhile, the state Congress has accused P A Sangma and Naveen of violating the Constitution by playing the tribal and religion card.
