Nagarjuna Fertilisers Q4 up 83 pc

Nagarjuna Fertilisers and Chemicals NFCL today reported a 83 per cent increase in its net profit at Rs 23 crore for the quarter ended March 31,2010.

Nagarjuna Fertilisers and Chemicals NFCL today reported a 83 per cent increase in its net profit at Rs 23 crore for the quarter ended March 31,2010.

In the comparison,the firm had earned a net profit of Rs 12.61 crore in the same period of FY8217;09.

Total sales,however,decreased by nearly five per cent to Rs 517.17 crore during the period under review compared to Rs 543 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal,NFCL said in a communique to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The Hyderabad-based company8217;s year-on-year net profit more than doubled to Rs 66.37 crore as against Rs 32.41 crore in the 2008-09 fiscal.

Total income of the firm in FY8217;10 rose to Rs 1,993.35 crore compared to Rs 2,378.58 crore in the FY8217;09.

NFCL has recommended a dividend of Rs 0.5 per share.
