More JNNURM funds for low-floor buses

The Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission JNNURM has been allocated an additional Rs 14,873 crore in the Budget as against Rs 7,383 crore last year. A major chunk of this amount will be spent to buy 10,000 low-floor buses especially in the hilly states. Apart from JNNURM,there was a marginal increase from Rs 9,545 crore to Rs 10,021 crore for Urban Development Ministry.
