Facing criticism from BJP with reports about key papers related to the Adarsh Housing Society scam going missing,the Congress on Saturday said it was a serious issue if it has really happened.
If papers have gone missing,it is definitely a serious issue. But only a state government official can answer on it. The issue concerns the state and is not related to the Centre, party spokesperson Shakeel Ahmed told reporters.
After it came to light that the crucial files have gone missing,the BJP earlier in the day said it was a deliberate attempt by the Congress to cover up the Adarsh scam.
This is a deliberate attempt by the Congress to cover up the issue and protect key persons involved in the Adarsh housing scam, BJP spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain said. The party is set to utilise the development to further sharpen its attack on the UPA government.
