UPCC general secretary Dal Bahadur Kori,who appeared for High School Examination at the age of 53,has passed with first division with distinction in two subjects. Kori had appeared for the exam as a private candidate. I believe my purpose is served it is never too late to complete your education, said Kori,resident of Padmanpur Bijoli village in Rae Bareli. Kori,who was minister for social welfare between 1997 and 2002,joined the Congress in 2009. Kori now plans to complete his intermediate.
JSEB staff withdraw strike
Ranchi: Around 6,500 staff of the Jharkhand State Electricity Board JSEB,who had struck work Monday demanding a pay hike,withdrew their strike after Chief Secretary A K Singh threatened to invoke the Essential Services Maintenance Act against them. Power supply across the state was cut after the staff of three power plants PTPS,TTPS and Sikidri Hydel and its transmission and distribution units stayed off duty on Monday in support of their various demands,including 30 per cent raise in their salaries.
