McDonalds plans 25 drive thrus

International fast food chain McDonalds is quite upbeat on its Drive Thru format of outlets and will invest around Rs 100-crore to open 20-25 such stores over the next three-years.

International fast food chain McDonalds is quite upbeat on its Drive Thru format of outlets and will invest around Rs 100-crore to open 20-25 such stores over the next three-years. Besides,as per its overall expansion,the company will open about 40 stores by end this year and about 50-60 stores in 2011. It has 8 Drive Thru outlets currently.

Drive Thru formats is the most profitable format across the world and we will focus more here. We plan to open 20-25 of these stores in the next 3-years. As per our strategy the company plans to open 40 new outlets across India at an investment of Rs 3-crore per outlet8211;this is our strategy, McDonalds managing director North and East India Vikram Bakshi,said on the sidelines of the India Retail Forum here. McDonalds currently has 188 outlets across all its formats.
