Man throws shoe at Haryana CM

Hooda says man mentally unstable

A man threw a shoe at Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda at a Backward Classes rally in Hisar on Sunday the second time the CM faced such a situation.

The shoe did not hit Hooda and fell way short of the dais on which the CM and other senior Congress leaders were sitting,but caused a commotion in the rally.

Security forces immediately apprehended the offender,one Jit Singh from Kirmaro village.

Police said Jit Singh,a Jat,was being questioned. Sources said Jit wanted to meet Hooda personally during the rally but when he was stopped by security personnel,he got agitated and threw a shoe towards the stage.

When The Indian Express called up the chief minister later,he said the man was mentally unstable.

He has been under treatment for the last six years. There is nothing to worry about8230;he has been like this for a long time now, Hooda said.

The rally of Backward Classes was organised by local Congress MLA Ram Niwas Ghorella at the government college ground in Hisar.
