Auto major Mahindra amp; Mahindra today launched an air-conditioned variant of its four-wheel drive jeep 8216;Thar8217; at a base price of Rs 6.75 lakh.

The company,which had till now kept away from fitting the off-roader jeep with an AC,decided to install it after customer feedback,wherein people felt the need for the comfort of an AC,senior marketing vice-president,automotive division,Vivek Nayer told reporters here.

The new model is priced at Rs 6.75 lakh and upwards,he said,adding the model is Bharat Stage IV-compliant.

The company also announced the schedule for the second season of its branding and customer connect initiative called 8216;Mahindra Adventure8217; involving themed-drives and off-roading competitions,among others.

A domestic initiative so far,this year8217;s edition will also include a tri-nation drive passing through India,Bhutan and Nepal and also an event in South Africa.
