Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams in Andhra Pradesh will conduct the celestial wedding of Lord Venkateswara at the huge Marg Swarnabhoomi site at the coastal hamlet of Seekinankuppam in Kancheepuram district on July 24.
The deities of Goddesses Sridevi and Bhoodevi and their consort Lord Venkateswara would be brought from Tirumala for the wedding,which would be held from 5 PM that day.
Officials of TTD8217;s Chennai based Advisory Committee Swathanthiram and Prabhakar told reporters here that this is the first time such a programme is being held in the coastal village and that more than three lakh devotees are expected to witness the wedding. Entry to the mahotsavam Srinivasa Kalyanam would be free,they said.
Vedic pandits and archakas from TTD would conduct the rituals related to the celestial wedding.
They said the Tamil Nadu and Puducherry governments have been requested to operate additional bus services for the devotees.
All sacred materials would be distributed free of cost at the venue after the programme to the devotees.
Srivari Bakthi Channel,a TTD television unit,would present a live telecast of the festival.
