Shah Rukh Khan celebrated his 20th wedding anniversary on October 25 all by himself in Berlin where he was shooting for Farhan Akhtars Don 2. However,wife Gauri and kids Aryan and Suhana travelled to Europe to accompany him on his birthday on November 2.
High honour
Preity Zinta was conferred a doctorate by the University of East London at a function held in London on October 29.
Later,she attended the Loomba Foundation Diwali dinner at the Guild Hall where the deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg and Lord Navnit Dholakia,deputy leader of the Lib Dem at the House of Lords were also present.
Turning 80
Shammi Kapoor recently turned 80. The actor,who has not been keeping well for some time,had a quiet birthday with his family.
Surprise gifts
Asins birthday on October 26 was a special one as her school friends paid her a surprise visit. Some of them came over from USA,Europe,Australia to Mumbai to meet her. Asin,who was out of town for a long time working,was in the city to be with her family. She got a lot of gifts from her friends.
Married for love
Vivek Oberoi married management graduate Priyanka Alva,the daughter of former Karnataka minister late Jeevaraj Alva and dancer Nandini,in Bengaluru on October 29.
The wedding day started with prayers,followed by a haldi ceremony and the sehra bandi. Vivek was dressed in a maroon brocade sherwani with a sword covered with a special sheath embellished with stones,a gift from the bride,while Priyanka was seen in a lehenga with heavy intricate gold work and rubies. Both the outfits were designed by Tarun Tahiliani.
Attended by over 2,000 guests,the mandap was covered with around 2,000 Swaroski crystals and around 700
lotuses were flown from Thailand. A reception was held in Mumbai on October 31.
