Congress MP Jayanthi Natarajan on Thursday suggested the enactment of a law to limit the number of extensions a Commission of Inquiry may be given. I would like to suggest to the government that it bring a law to amend the Commissions of Inquiry Act limiting the number of extensions that any commission of inquiry can get so that whichever report is being tabled, will be tabled within the relevant time and not after 17 years. I too agree that Justice Liberhan could have given the report at a much earlier time, she said in the Rajya Sabha.
Be a man and say I did it: Sibal to BJP
New Delhi: The Congress on Thursday dared the BJP to accept the fact that they had demolished the Babri Masjid. HRD Minister Kapil Sibal, squarely blamed the Kalyan Singh government which,he said, acted in connivance with the Sangh Parivar leaders. Be a man and say,I did it, Sibal said. He also debunked the claims that it was a sudden upsurge of emotions and told the RS Sabha that it was a well-scripted exercise.
