Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Bangladesh Opposition leader Begum Khaleda Zia on Monday agreed to cooperate in combating terrorism and insurgency. Zia assured that she and her party will not allow her country to be used for anti-India acts. Zia,who is here on the invitation of the External Affairs Minister,called on Singh and held discussions for about 30 minutes on bilateral matters,including border management. "Begum Khaleda Zia appreciated various Indian initiatives which had been taken by the Prime Minister including liberalization of trade. She expressed satisfaction at the manner in which India is working out issues related to Tipaimukh Dam and matters on border management.," official sources said. Singh said India was willing to discuss issues of importance to Bangladesh,and that the prosperity of India's neighbours,is in India's interest.
