The Chief Commissioner of Railway Safety CCRS,entrusted to probe the Kalka Mail mishap, submitted a report to the Ministry of Railways on Wednesday, but said his findings would be made public only on Thursday.
The July 10 mishap near Malwan in Uttar Pradesh left 65 people dead and 180 injured.
During preliminary investigations,it was found that no emergency brakes had been applied, which meant there was no sudden obstruction on the tracks. The recordings of the Vigilance Control Device, which alerts the driver and sends out signals in case the driver dozes off, have been taken into account.
A detailed examination has been done and the Ministry will take necessary action, CCRS Prashant Kumar said.
The CCRS also went through the maintenance record of the WAP7 engine on which the train was running,as there were allegations that it had not been maintained properly.
