Four years after being forced to resign from the state Cabinet following corruption charges levelled against him by a sitting legislator,School Education Minister Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed has landed in trouble yet again this time for allegedly helping his son clear the Class X examination through unfair means in 2009.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has ordered an inquiry by the states Crime Branch into the matter,an official spokesman said. The file submitted to the CM by the School Education Minister has been sent to the Crime Branch who have been told to complete the inquiry within seven working days, the spokesman said.

The media had reported that Sayeed,in connivance with the then Secretary of the State Board of School Education, had managed to get his son clear the Class X exam through unfair means.

Meanwhile, protests erupted in Srinagar on Tuesday demanding Sayeeds resignation. Sayeed should step down on moral grounds, said Independent MLA Engineer Rashid.
