On September 2,J&K Assembly admitted the resolution of Independent member Engineer Abdul Rashid seeking amnesty for Afzal Guru convicted in the attack on Parliament.
Let the House resolve that Guru be granted amnesty on humanitarian ground,Rashid had said.
On Sunday, the legislator said there were reports that his resolution would be selected for debate and discussion through ballot system and alleged that
his resolution was being sabotaged.
Reacting to the allegations, the spokesperson of the J&K Legislative Assembly said: The secretariat has received 39 resolutions out of which the Speaker has admitted 35,including that of Rashid.
Contesting his claims that the resolution was being sabotaged, the spokesman said that attributing certain things to the institution of the Speaker was unwarranted. The spokesman said 22 resolutions would go for balloting, and the question of pick and choose didnt arise.
