P Chendur Pandian has been inducted as the new face, who will be sworn in on Monday. Both are influential leaders from Tirunelveli district who had defeated strong DMK and Congress candidates.
Reshuffling the portfolios among the ministers, the Khadi and Village Industries Department has been entrusted on Pandian, while the department handled by Subaya has been given to Information Minister G Senthamizhan.
S S Krishnamoorthy has been made the new Commercial Taxes minister, replacing Budhichandhiran as the Food Minister. Budhichandhirans Tourism department has been given to Gokula Indira, who was earlier handling the Commercial Taxes department. The reshuffle was followed by transfers of four officials, including the commissioner and joint commissioners,in the Commercial Taxes department.
