Discomfited by the subject of Hindu terror, especially ever since the name of its senior and influential leader Indresh Kumar cropped up in the confession of Swami Aseemanand, one of the key accused in the terror network suspected to be responsible for the blasts in Ajmer,Malegaon,Mecca Masjid and the Samjhauta Express, the RSS has written a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. When contacted,RSS national executive member Ram Madhav confirmed that the letter has been delivered to the PMO today. Sources said the letter, written in the name of general secretary Bhaiyyaji Joshi, has asked for an independent investigation or inquiry into the political conspiracy to destabilise the RSS and kill leaders like Mohan Bhagwat and Indresh Kumar. Citing the Malegaon chargesheet, the four-page letter alleges a political objective behind what it describes as the Maharashtra ATSs attempts to suppress evidence of the involvement of Srikant Purohit and Dayanand Pandey both accused of plotting the Malegaon blasts, and both presently under arrest in a plot to kill RSS leaders and create fissures in the organisation. Purohit and Pandey,it says, have been involved in spreading canards about the RSS but this,it claims, has been covered up. Instead, the RSS has been bracketed with them,it says. The letter cites details of how Pandey and Purohit allegedly conspired to acquire arms and of their alleged attempts to divide the RSS. It also refers to statements on Hindu terror by Congress general secretary Digvijaya Singh without taking his name.
