IT czar Azim Premji today declined to offer comments on Infosys Technologies Ltd,post retirement of its Chairman N R Narayana Murthy,saying he has no 8220;privileged knowledge8221;.
8220;Really,I cannot comment on.What I know of what is going on is what is available with the media. That8217;s an honest truth. I have no privileged knowledge on it8221;,the Wipro Chairman told reporters when asked if Infosys is going to be the same post Murthy8217;s retirement and his view in this regard.
Premji said 8220;newspaper speculation8221; is that he Murthy is becoming Chairman emeritus.
8220;You media all pick up information from ex-employees and existing employees just as much as we will pick up from ex-employees and existing employees8221;,Premji remarked. 8220;Why don8217;t we wait till 30th of April; it8217;s not very far off8221;.
Infosys founder is stepping down as the company8217;s Chairman in August this year. The nomination committee of Infosys is set to announce Murthy8217;s successor on April 30.
Being both headquartered in Bangalore,Infosys,the country8217;s second largest software exporter behind TCS,is often compared with Wipro,the third largest. Infosys is listed on the NASDAQ,while Wipro on New York Stock Exchange.
Some also refer them as city-based rivals in IT space.
