Looking to land a better job,many a job applicant in the country is furnishing false data about his/her previous employment,says a report.
According to the report of First Advantage,a global risk mitigation and business solutions provider,background checks of applicants also showed discrepancies in submission of information related to education and address.
In a statement issued by AsiaNet here today,First Advantage said discrepancy rate related to information given by job applicants stood at 10.6 per cent.
The 8216;Background Screening Trends 8211; India Report8217; is based on background checks conducted between July and September last year.
The discrepancy rate is generally defined as the differences discovered between job applicant-provided data and the actual data during background checks,the statement said.

International Wayne Tollemache said.
Going by the statement,70 per cent of all discrepancies
observed in the third quarter of 2010 involved associate level
employees.
